| Owl Creek Farm is a family-owned pick-your-own strawberry farm that has been in continuous operation since 1977. This year's season ran roughly the month of June, and our hours of operation were Monday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4pm to 7pm. We ask that you please call us at 291-0409 at least a day ahead for an appointment. The price of the berries this year will be $2.45 a pound. If you have picked at the farm before, you can reuse your old baskets for a 50 cent discount on the total price. Hello, friends, Strawberry season is over at Owl Creek Farm! And we truly can't figure out what is going on, what is happening with the weather and climate. We had a very short production this year, and we thank all of you who were dedicated pickers and did your thing again this spring, despite the odds. Tom Friedman refers to such climate change as "global weirding", and I agree that's a good word for it. On the other hand, ever the optimists, we are right now planting a pumpkin field for fall. We'll let you know when they're ready for your pies and fall decorating. Thanks again! Del, Linda, and Erik Also, we're excited about a young man by the name of Evan Anderson who will be renting some land to raise vegetables for the local area. See the CSA link to the left. And check out his website. |
